How will you close 2022?

Yikes! It's the last quarter of 2022 already. As a Brit in Guatemala, October sees the last full month of rainy season. Bring on dry season I say, not least because this will mark a 6-month pause in muddy puppies running in and out of the house. Dry, dusty puppies are so much easier on the housework than soaking wet, muddy ones.

My question is, how do you plan to close out your year? Have you set clear intentions for this final quarter of 2022? I wanted to talk about intention setting as it can make a huge difference to what we can bring into our experience. It can impact our overall mood as well as what we can accomplish for ourselves. The trick is to focus on what YOU want, and one effective way to get clear on that and to set intentions is through journalling.

At the weekend I wrote out, old-fashioned pen and jotter style, a wish list of the things I still want to do, to accomplish and what I would like to see happen in my world before we ring in 2023. Life can get hectic, I know mine does. Yet, dedicating time to truly getting focused on what we want, getting it down on paper so it feels real and not pie-in-the-sky not only supports us in creating the reality we want, it's a priceless exercise in self-care. Ask yourself:

    What do I want?
What do I want to see happen?
How will I feel seeing the results of my intentions come to fruition?

There’s power in words, especially in writing. So get it out on paper, go into detail for each area of your life where you’d like to advance or make some changes for the better. For example, if you feel you are always run-off-your-feet, it could be a goal such as making quiet time just for yourself each week so you can recharge and catch up with your thoughts.

If you want to go all in with this journalling exercise, here's an idea where dōTERRA essential oils can support your focus on you and your intention setting. This diffuser blend can really inspire you to open up and get clear on what's important to YOU; it certainly set the perfect scene for my intention setting session at the weekend:

    5 x drops Wild Orange
    3 x drops Cedarwood
    3 x drops Ylang Ylang
    3 x drops Frankincense

It’s not too late to accomplish more of what you want in 2022 however big or small your goals are. Even small wins help boost your overall mood. So, why not set aside a little quiet time for yourself to get your intentions clear for the remainder of the year. Keep in mind that where you direct your focus impacts your moods, your behaviours and as a consequence your outcomes and experience of life too.

I'd love to hear how you get on!
